La literatura argentina a menudo ha sido adaptada para el cine. Asimismo, el cine argentino ha seleccionado obras literarias extranjeras conocidas como modelos. No hace falta decir que la literatura argentina adaptada es conocida internacionalmente. La naturaleza de su canonización invita a hablar de una literatura mundial. Los autores Roberto Arlt, Jorge Luis Borges, Adolfo Bioy Casares y Julio Cortázar son el ABC de una literatura autorreflexiva que atrae a lectores de todo el mundo. Pero las obras de César Aira o Lucía Puenzo y las adaptaciones fílmicas correspondientes demuestran que la resonancia internacional es actualmente tan importante como en el caso de Arlt, Borges o Cortázar.El siguiente volumen no trata solo de literatura y cine y tampoco se limita a la literatura canonizada. Varios artículos están dedicados a las relaciones de filmes con otras formas de expresión mediática como el cómic, a las redacciones de guiones o a las películas y literatura de la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Esta área entre el canon y la actualidad está presente en este libro con El Eternauta, Operación masacre, guiones de Guillermo Cabrera Infante y de Sergio Renán y una adaptación de Albert Camus por Luis Puenzo. Los autores incluyen las adaptaciones de Borges por Fabián Bielinsky y Javier Perrone, así como las de Cortázar por Keren Cytter o Jana Bokova. La diversidad de todos estos ejemplos muestra que aún hay mucho por descubrir, y esta investigación quiere dar algunas pistas con una variedad polifacética de estudios de casos individuales paradigmáticos.

From the late 19th century onwards Paris had been a congenial locus for bohemian life. By 1920 Montparnasse had superseded Montmartre as the intellectual and artistic heart of the city, inaugurating a decade of unequaled creative achievement and innovative self-performance. These were the years of the ‘Roaring Twenties’ or années folles . “Paris” – as Gertrude Stein famously remarked – “was where the twentieth century was”. The Rive Gauche offered a carnivalesque atmosphere of liberality, where the manifold experiments of the avant-garde could breathe freely. This volume attempts to do justice to the polyphony of voices and points up the synergies that existed between the creative activities of writers, painters, publishers, photographers and film-makers. The contributors adopt interdisciplinary approaches, casting new light on the rich and diverse artistic world of Paris in the twenties as presented in lesser known works by French artists, English and American expatriates, but also Belgian, Dutch, German, Polish or South American avant-gardists. The collection thus gives the reader a fascinating insight into artistic productions which have hitherto received comparatively little critical attention.
