This book deals with consumer lending from both theoretical and empirical points of view. In the theoretical section, it book analyses the wider context of financial literacy, household indebtedness and the global consumer credit market including relevant legal, regulatory and risk management issues. In the empirical section, the book uses The Navigator of Responsible Lending as an evaluation tool to assess both bank and non-bank consumer credit providers in the Czech Republic. Although our empirical research is done as a case study on the Czech Republic, its basic ideas might be easily applied to other countries as well. Enclosures to the book include additional texts relevant to consumer lending (including case studies and an unofficial English translation of the Czech Consumer Credit Act) and therefore provide the reader with several perspectives on the topic.

Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWFs) have been currently becoming a more and more important part of the international financial system. These institutions administrated more than USD 6 trillion under their asset management as of the end of 2013. SWFs are the funds owned by a state, set up for various macroeconomic purposes. Usually, they are financed through the transfer of foreign currency assets which are mainly long-term investments abroad. Cílem této monografie je podat ctenári komplexní pohled na problematiku financní gramotnosti, zadluování a trh spotrebitelských úveru v Ceské republice vcetne relevantní právní úpravy, regulace a dozoru nad tímto sektorem. Predkládané dílo se skládá z 12 kapitol a obsahuje tri hlavní cásti: teoretickou cást, empirickou cást a záverecné shrnutí. Teoretická cást v 6 kapitolách predstavuje výsledky výzkumného projektu Navigátor bezpecného úveru. Empirická cást obsahuje rovne 6 kapitol a obsahuje pohledy na ceský trh spotrebitelských úveru od zástupcu akademické, neziskové, verejné i privátní sféry. Snahou autoru bylo zpracovat problematiku spotrebitelských úveru v irím kontextu v rozumný, prehledný a ctivý text, který se pohybuje na pomezí ekonomie a práva.
