The volume asks how the literatures of the Americas and the Caribbean present multiple or internally differentiated spaces and how these are distinguished or traversed by different temporalities. The historical and (post)colonial experiences of these areas turns them into especially fertile ground for the exploration of the connections between landscape/geography and historical/temporal palimpsests as well as the specificities of literary form. The contributions are dedicated to individual, yet conceptually interconnected studies of staggered, multiple, non-simultaneous temporalities in modern and contemporary literature. The volume adopts a comparative perspective throughout and intends to foster the dialogue between the study of Latin/American and Caribbean literatures-in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and English. Therefore, the individual essays are not grouped according to geographical or linguistic areas, but follow a trajectory from spatiotemporal constellations of the 19th century to ruined/catastrophic landscapes and the geopoetic inscriptions of time in regions. The essays should appeal to all readers interested in World Literature, Hemispheric Studies as well as temporal approaches to space and geography.

This volume takes a closer look at women's perspectives on (post-)migration and explores the uncertainties, frictions, struggles and opportunities emerging from that context. It revolves around African and Afrodescendant female writers and artists and refers to the uncomfortable stories they tell, stories about what it means to have migrated to, live in, or have been born in Romance-speaking Europe. Their voices reveal positionings of the 'female Other' that oscillate between alienation and belonging, moving between African, European and other (diasporic) spaces. The scholarly articles, from the disciplines of literary and cultural studies, explore literature, theatre, film and the internet and cover a variety of countries and Romance languages. The volume engages simultaneously in a dialogue with writers and activists: it includes short and micro stories by Melibea Obono and Ubah Cristina Ali Farah as well as interviews with Amina Marini, Mimina Icir Di Muro and Aminata Aidara, Kaha Mohamed Aden, Igiaba Scego and Desirée Bela-Lobedde. Dieser Band wirft einen genaueren Blick auf die Perspektiven von Frauen auf (Post-)Migration und untersucht die Unsicherheiten, Reibungen, Kämpfe und Chancen, die sich aus diesem Kontext ergeben. Er konzentriert sich auf afrikanische und afrodeszendente Schriftstellerinnen und Künstlerinnen und bezieht sich auf die unbequemen Geschichten, die sie erzählen, Geschichten darüber, was es bedeutet, in das romanischsprachige Europa migriert zu sein, dort zu leben oder dort geboren worden zu sein.
