This book constitutes the refereed post-conference proceedings of the First International Conference on Pervasive Knowledge and Collective Intelligence on Web and Social Media, PerSOM 2022, which was held in Messina, Italy, in November 2022. The use of advanced and scalable algorithms, along with parallel programming frameworks and high-performance computers, is commonly used to solve Big Data problems and obtain valuable information and learning processes in a reasonable time. Data and knowledge play a key role in both current and future GRIDs. The issues concerning representation, discovery, and integration of data and knowledge in dynamic distributed environments can be addressed by exploiting features offered by GRID Technologies. Current research activities are leveraging the GRID for the provision of generic- and domain-specific solutions and services for data management and knowledge discovery.
