The aim of this study was to develop new methods to assess the vertical and horizontal integration of sustainability into higher education curricula. The KU Leuven Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) was used as a case study. The KU Leuven FEB is committed to the integration of sustainability (as well as ethics and responsibility) into its educational programs as signified by its commitment to the Principles for Responsible Management Education and the publication of its sustainability report. A new assessment method based on the division of sustainable criteria into the core themes (vertical integration) and sustainability-related themes (horizontal integration) was proposed. The two-level and three-level multilevel models were applied. It was identified that professor’s characteristics do not influence on the vertical integration. It was identified that horizontal integration is influenced by gender and age. A larger scale research should be considered.
