Monographie, abondamment illustrée et avec de nombreux essais, documentant l'ensemble des installations du duo jusqu'aux projets les plus récents. Le collectif allemand Bankleer (Karin Kasböck & Christoph Leitner, nés respectivement en 1969 et 1968 à Mühldorf et à Altötting, vivent et travaillent à Berlin) produit des installations multimédia très politiques qui intègrent des supports et langages formels extrêmement variés : performances expérimentales contextualisées, en interation avec le public, docu-fictions vidéo anticapitalistes, techniques empruntées au cinéma élargi, dessins et sculptures... Le duo développe par ailleurs divers projets curatoriaux et éditoriaux. Bankleer's works and projects are distinguished by the use of an exceptionally wide range of media and formats and the employment of different formal languages. The group's activities defy easy classification and assignment : performances in public spaces, video installations, sculptures, drawings, editorial and curatorial projects. Almost all their works share an immediate reference to political and social developments, addressing current issues from a perspective defined by bankleer's anti-capitalist views and their critique of economic structures. This monograph features in depth essays on their work as well as an annotated image section, highlighting recent projects and deployments.
