Fatih Akın zählt zu den wichtigsten Regisseuren des deutschen Gegenwartskinos. Seine Filme sind international preisgekrönt und genießen die Gunst nicht nur der Kritik, sondern auch des Publikums. Auch die Filmwissenschaft hat sich in den letzten zwanzig Jahren dem Werk Akıns zugewandt, von einer systematischen Erschließung des Gesamtwerks kann bisher allerdings keine Rede sein. Der vorliegende Sammelband schafft hier Abhilfe, indem er das OEuvre erstmals in seiner Gesamtheit aufarbeitet: Die Anthologie erschließt die Regiearbeiten Fatih Akıns genreübergreifend vom Frühwerk bis zum jüngsten Film. Ziel ist es, der filmwissenschaftlichen Diskussion neue Impulse zu geben, die Vermittlung von Akıns Werk in Universität und Schule zu erleichtern und eine Einführung in die Arbeit des Regisseurs zu bieten.

The filmic commemoration of the republican guerrilla movement and its diverse phenomenology as an armed resistance against the Francoist dictatorship is one of the most privileged topics of the so called Spanish Cinema of Memory. The collection of essays in La memoria cinematográfica de la guerrilla antifranquista analyze the most emblematic films of this thematic cycle, touching on the vast scope of different filmic discourses as well as on the films’ intentions to take up a position in the still current and controversial debate about the historical memory of Francoism. The articles emphasize how this Cinema of Memory dismisses concrete historic reference, thus allowing an intense reflection not only on the ethics of resistance and dignity, but also on the power of counterfactual imagination. La finalmente derrotada guerrilla antifranquista y su tan diversa fenomenología como resistencia armada contra la dictadura constituyen uno de los temas privilegiados del cine de memoria español. Los trabajos compilados en La memoria cinematográfica de la guerrilla antifranquista analizan las obras más emblemáticas de este ciclo de películas, incidiendo tanto en su muy variada textura cinematográfica como en su voluntad de posicionarse dentro del todavía hoy controvertido debate sobre la memoria histórica del franquismo. A la vez, tomados en su conjunto, los artículos enfatizan como este cine de memoria, partiendo de un concreto referente histórico, ha sido capaz de desarrollar una intensa reflexión no sólo sobre la ética de la resistencia y de la dignidad, sino también sobre el poder de la imaginación contrafáctica.

"Over the past ten years the novels of Mathias Énard have enjoyed both widespread critical acclaim and commercial success. In 2015 Énard was awarded the Prix Goncourt, France's most prestigious literary prize, for Compass, a work which explores the fraught and often fruitful relationship between Europe and the Orient through the musings of an Austrian musicologist. Yet in spite of these successes, and Mathias Énard's penchant for filling his novels with historical fact, little has been written about his work in academic circles. This volume seeks to fill that gap and shed light on the narrative modalities that allow the author to transform erudition into narration. It also seeks to situate his work in the current literary context, which is being shaped ever more by historical narratives".

Depuis plus de dix ans, les romans de Mathias Énard connaissent un succès qui ne se dément pas. La Perfection du tir en 2003, mais aussi Zone en 2008, Parle-leur de batailles, de rois et d’éléphants en 2010 et Rue des voleurs en 2012 ont remporté des prix littéraires de grand renom. Enfin, le jury du prix Goncourt a opté en 2015 avec Boussole pour un roman dans lequel « l’imagination » romanesque a pour support une époustouflante érudition portant sur l’Orient. Ce volume cherche à éclairer les modalités narratives qui permettent à l’auteur de transformer l’érudition en roman, mais aussi à situer son œuvre dans le contexte littéraire actuel.
