Abstract

In this thesis, we discuss the validation of the anti-phospholipid assay on the 18040435 ACL AcuStar from Instrumentation Laboratory (Werfen). The antiphospholipid syndrome is an autoimmune disease in which the patient consistently produces anti-phospholipids antibodies. The AcuStar is a haemostasis random access analyser based on chemiluminescent technology. The analyser is situated in the special’s coagulation laboratory at the Royal Liverpool Laboratory. This laboratory already contained one fully validated ACL AcuStar.
