"The fourteen essays create an interdisciplinary conversation about the nature and function of sacred and devotional objects across the globe during the medieval and Early Modern period. The discussion treats Buddhist, Morisco, Morrano, Christian, and South American Indian relics considered from the perspectives of experts in Buddhism, art history, literary analysis, history, philosophy, Spanish Studies, and Celtic Studies. The anthology reveals the surprising commonalty of the significance of sacred objects across the globe while at the same time delineating their varied functions. Among the shared issues considered in the collection are the nature of access to the object (who is allowed to see the object, how, and when), the way relics delineate sacred space, community formation via sacred objects (who is included and who is excluded in the sacred community), and appropriation and reappropriation of sacred and devotional objects (who controls what object, where, and when.)"--

Clinical training and background is not the same as leadership. Where does a potential clinical leader turn to for help and advice? This small, handy volume, specifically written for such purpose, instills the much desired soft skills of leadership. It is not linked to any particular healthcare system. The focus on leadership as a means to influence healthcare culture, is rightly attracting new attention internationally. There is a lack of published advice aimed at clinical leadership and the time is ripe to channel and develop formal pathways to support this previously unrecognized need.

Space and Spatial Analysis in Archaeology is made up of thirty-seven contributions based on and developed from papers presented at the 2001 Chacmool Conference, An Odyssey of Space, one of the first and largest meetings to focus on this increasingly important aspect of archaeological research. The papers discuss studies undertaken in a number of different archaeological settings and incorporate a broad range of methodological and theoretical approaches to spatial analysis. They reflect the roots of spatial archaeology in approaches such as settlement pattern analysis and also look at innovative new directions in the field, such as landscape archaeology and space syntax studies. This range of focus provides a valuable snapshot of the state of spatial research in archaeology as it enters the twenty-first century and reflects its increasing breadth and popularity among archaeological researchers.
