This book discusses current trends and potential applications of nanotechnology in dental materials. Dentistry is undergoing yet another change to benefit mankind via the discipline of nanodentistry. A variety of nanostructures such as nanorobots, nanospheres, nanofibers, nanorods, etc., have been studied for various uses in dentistry and medicine. Preventive dentistry has also utilized nanodentistry to develop nanomaterials for inclusion in a variety of oral health-care products. Methods to prevent and combat dental problems have been devised, discussed, and implemented since ancient times; however, there is a constant need for improved tools and techniques. This book is relevant academically for undergraduate and post-graduate dental students, dental practitioners, researchers, and faculties of dental universities, as this book explores the application of various nanobiomaterials in dentistry, discusses current research in dental nanomaterials and potential future areas of interest, and examines the use of nanotechnology in various fields of dentistry. Explores application of various nanobiomaterials to dentistry; Discusses current research in dental nanomaterials and potential future areas of interest; Examines the use of nanotechnology in several fields of dentistry. Dr. Ramesh S. Chaughule, Ex Scientist from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, India, is an Adjunct Professor at Ramnarain Ruia College, Mumbai India, Research Advisor at Gogate Jogalekar College, Maharashtra, and a Fellow of Maharashtra Academy of Sciences. He is also the recipient of Indo-UK, Indo-USA, and Indo-Japan fellowships, and has more than 80 publications as papers and books in his field of research. He has also served on IAEA programs in Indonesia.

Measurement, analysis and modeling of extreme precipitation events linked to floods is vital in understanding changing climate impacts and variability. This book provides methods for assessment of the trends in these events and their impacts. It also provides a basis to develop procedures and guidelines for climate-adaptive hydrologic engineering. Academic researchers in the fields of hydrology, climate change, meteorology, environmental policy and risk assessment, and professionals and policy-makers working in hazard mitigation, water resources engineering and climate adaptation will find this an invaluable resource. This volume is the first in a collection of four books on flood disaster management theory and practice within the context of anthropogenic climate change. The others are: Floods in a Changing Climate: Hydrological Modeling by P. P. Mujumdar and D. Nagesh Kumar, Floods in a Changing Climate: Inundation Modeling by Giuliano Di Baldassarre and Floods in a Changing Climate: Risk Management by Slodoban Simonović.

"[D]iscusses the change detection and trend analysis methods used to assess hydroclimatic variables in a changing climate. It also assesses changes and trends in hydroclimatic variables using state-of-the-art parametric and nonparametric statistical approaches and evaluates the influences of climate change and variability on spatial and temporal changes in hydroclimatic variables. This book offers a variety of real-life case studies and problem-solving techniques for a field that is rapidly evolving, and highlights methods to evaluate trends, non-homogeneity and points where time-series characteristics change. In addition, it covers the subject of climate variability and change in great detail, including spatial and temporal changes in precipitation, streamflow, and sea levels"--Page 4 of cover.

As the name suggests this book discusses how nanotechnology has influenced the provision of implant treatment from surgery to prosthetic reconstruction and post treatment biological complications. This book is a sequel to the earlier book “Dental Applications of Nanotechnology” published by Springer. It aims to present both the nanotechnology and allied research along with the clinical concepts of almost every different aspect of implantology in one volume. These two fraternities promote the translation of the research ideas and product development into fruitful practicalities. The first section covers nanobiomaterials in implant applications, in bone regeneration, prosthetic rehabilitation, to control biofilm and peri-implantitis, bone grafting and tissue engineering. The second section explores applications of such new technologies in the field of implantology that gives this book a unique feature by bringing science and technology into clinical application. It covers implant stability, peri-implantitis, lasers, CAD/CAM technology, impressions, 3D printing, reconstruction with bone grafts and zygomatic implants. Comprehensive coverage includes both simple and complicated clinical cases, with practical guidance on how to apply the latest research, diagnostic tools, treatment planning, implant designs, materials, and techniques to provide superior patient outcomes. The book is well written and structured making it easy for experienced clinicians and those new to dental implantology as well as students, researchers, scientists and faculties of dental universities.
