This practically oriented book opens by describing the basic Cardiac MR (CMR) sequences and Cardiac CT (CCT) acquisition techniques, offering step-by-step guidelines on acquiring CMR and CCT studies and analyzing images. The main body of the book provides a comprehensive description of the study protocols most suitable for particular diseases and discusses their respective rationales. In addition, it highlights key findings for every pathological condition, complemented by extensive illustrations. The book especially addresses the needs of junior cardiologists and radiologists embarking on the regular use of MR-based and CT-based cardiac imaging, though it also offers a valuable reference manual for senior specialists. Of particular benefit is the inclusion of both CMR and CCT, techniques which are usually treated separately, despite the regular use of both at advanced Cardiac Imaging Units.

The Atlas of Practical Applications of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance contains over two hundred illustrations and a Glossary of terms. This atlas will assist cardiologists to determine when a CMR exam is useful for diagnosis and provide details on how to plan and read CMR studies. Guillem Pons-Llado, MD is Director of the Cardiac Imaging Unit at the Hospital de la Santa Creu I Sant Pau, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain. Francesc Carreras, MD is part of the Cardiac Imaging Unit at the Hospital de la Santa Creu I Sant Pau, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain.

The multidetector CT scanner speeds diagnosis and treatment of patients. One of its many uses is to perform CT coronary angiography. Multidetector CT has generated excitement within the cardiology and radiology community as it provides clear pictures and takes less time than other non-invasive techniques, including conventional spiral and electron-beam CT which can take up to an hour or more. This atlas presents over 160 illustrations, with 116 in color and illustrates the capacity of multidetector CT for the analysis of the anatomy of the coronary arteries. Guillem Pons-Llado, MD is the Director of the Cardiac Imaging Unit and at the Hospital de la Santa Creu I Santa Pau, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain. Ruben Leta-Petracca, MD is part of the Cardiac Imaging Unit at the Hospital de la Santa Creu I Sant Pau, Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain.
