Zoals de titel al zegt, gaat het in deze publicatie om seksuele intimidatie op Amerikaanse universiteitscampussen. Meer bepaald de relatie tussen het academisch personeel en de vrouwelijke studenten staat centraal. In een eerste gedeelte wordt het begrip seksuele intimidatie vanuit verschillende standpunten bekeken. De auteur meent dat een duidelijke definitie van wat seksuele intimidatie, het bewustzijn voor de problematiek verhoogt. Er wordt beschreven hoe de wet omgaat met seksuele intimidatie, hoe zij het begrip invult. Het tweede gedeelte gaat gaat over het machtsmisbruik tussen professoren en studenten. Er wordt een psychologisch profiel geschetst van professoren als plegers van seksuele intimidatie. De hulpverlening aan de daders komt ook aan bod. In het laatste gedeelte worden maatregelen besproken die zowel op individueel als op institutioneel vlak genomen kunnen worden, om op een effectieve manier seksuele intimidatie te verhinderen. De auteurs menen dat de campussen zelf een actief beleid ter zake moeten voeren. Het instellen van een klachtenprocedure en trainingsprogramma's voor al het academisch personeel kunnen daarbij enkele van te nemen maatregelen zijn.
