As the field of cardiac electrophysiology evolves, the challenge remains to educate new generations of cardiac electrophysiologists with the basics as well as the latest advances in the field. While there are many outstanding resources providing in-depth review of electrophysiology topics, there are few case-based books that comprehensively cover clinical electrophysiology, devices and ablation. Case review offers a simple, yet effective way in teaching important concepts, offering insight into both the basic pathophysiology of a problem as well as the clinical reasoning that leads to a solution. Cardiac Electrophysiology: Clinical Case Review collates the most comprehensive case-based reviews of electrophysiology designed to appeal to all students of the field whether they are fellows, allied professionals or practicing electrophysiologists. The Editors have recruited some of the true experts in the field to contribute cases that they have encountered and summarizing the important learning objectives in a succinct way. Covering clinical electrophysiology, device troubleshooting and analysis as well as intracardiac electrogram analysis and ablation, readers will find the cases useful as a review of electrophysiology or in their day to day interactions with patients.

Advancements in the treatment and prevention of Atrial Fibrillation are presented in this important new book. Atrial Fibrillation affects approximately 2.5 million individuals in the United States and is projected to affect 15 million individuals by 2050. In Atrial Fibrillation: From Bench to Bedside, the reader is provided with the latest information that is critically important in the daily care and for the potential cure of patients with Atrial Fibrillation. Each chapter deals with a different aspect of Atrial Fibrillation and was authored by internationally recognized experts in the evolving field of cardiac electrophysiology. This book is a single source that provides a multi-perspective look at and approach to Atrial Fibrillation. Because Atrial Fibrillation is so prevalent and affects all areas of medicine, the information in this book will be useful to cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, researchers, and all those in the medical field.

The heart is a four-dimensional structure, comprising three spatial dimensions of shape and one temporal dimension of motion. Many technological advances in the field of imaging, such as intracardiac echocardiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and 3-D electroanatomical image integration mapping systems, have enhanced our ability to visualize, map, and navigate in the heart. Nevertheless, fluoroscopy remains the cornerstone of all interventional electrophysiology procedures and, with the limitations of current technologies, will continue to be extensively used for many years to come. A skilled fluoroscopist with the use of multiple projections can deduce the anatomy and catheter location with remarkable spatial detail. However, since fluoroscopy provides a real-time unmodified view to the operator, there is no easy way to organize the multiple measurements taken from a moving catheter into a more clinically useful model of cardiac electrical activity. As a result, significant clinical experience with fluoroscopy is necessary to accurately position catheters at an exact intracardiac site. Atlas of Radioscopic Catheter Placement for the Electrophysiologist is unique because it is the first book that provides a teaching tool for fellows in training, allied health professionals and accomplished electrophysiologists on relevant X-ray views commonly encountered in different electrophysiology procedures, and how these views correlate with cardiac anatomy. It was specifically designed to address this challenging aspects of all electrophysiology procedures systematically and is written in a perspicuous manner to demystify the subject, thus making it easier to better understand cardiac anatomy and successfully perform electrophysiology procedures.
