Questo volume nasce dall'esigenza di verificare se l'articolazione teorica di "spazio mediale" (nata in seno a uno studio prettamente letterario, circoscritto ai primordi della modernità borghese) possa essere esteso a includere una varietà di situazioni limitrofe, potenzialmente affini. L'idea di una interazione tra creatività autoriale e progettazione editoriale è stata sottoposta, dunque, in questa sede a un ulteriore duplice vaglio d'indagine: l'estensione di campo è prima di tutto temporale, grazie a contributi che spaziano dai primi del Novecento sino agli anni Duemila e, in seconda istanza, di carattere disciplinare, raccogliendo nella medesima sede saggi dedicati alla letteratura (Parte prima: Spazi mediali e letteratura), all'audiovisivo (Parte seconda: Spazi mediali e audiovisivo), e infine saggi che indagano le pratiche legate alle dinamiche della transmedialità (Parte terza: Spazi mediali e transmedialità).I vari interventi, le riflessioni teoriche e gli esempi applicativi, pure nella specificità dei casi e delle discipline, ricompongono un unico approccio metodologico che ha come scopo primario unire il lavoro condotto all'interno della testualità in un'ottica critica, storica e valoriale, con l'analisi degli apparati di produzione, che troppo spesso ancora oggi si tendono a descrivere come esterni al testo propriamente inteso e a concepire come estranei ai processi creativi di adesione, stabilizzazione e reinvenzione delle forme narrative.

The editors show how ideas of hegemonic and toxic masculinity have been too fixed on the exploration of dominance and subservience, and too little on the men (and the male characters in fiction) who behave following other ethical, personal and socially accepted patterns. Sara Martín is Senior Lecturer in English Literature and Cultural Studies at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain. Among her books are Masculinity and Patriarchal Villainy in British Fiction: From Hitler to Voldemort (2019) and Representations of Masculinity in Literature and Film: Focus on Men (2020). M. Isabel Santaulària is Senior Lecturer at the Department of English and Linguistics, Universitat de Lleida, Spain. She has published a book on serial killer fiction, El monstruo humano: Una introducción a la ficción de los asesinos en serie (2009), and numerous articles in national and international journals.

A comprehensive book on Selldorf Architects, with a detailed look at the museums, residences, and public buildings the firm has designed in the United States and abroad. Founding principal Annabelle Selldorf was born in Cologne, Germany and educated at the Pratt Institute and Syracuse University. The firm launched into international prominence with the opening of New York's Neue Galerie in 2001. Since, Selldorf Architects has become known for galleries, cultural projects, and private homes. More recently, the firm has made its mark with Sims Municipal Recycling in Brooklyn in 2013. The design and construction won an award for Excellence in Design from the Public Design Commission. In 2014, Selldorf Architects received the commission to build the expansion of the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego. This book begins with an extensive conversation between Tom Eccles and Annabelle Selldorf, as well as an essay by architecture critic Ian Volner.
