Il volume illustra il lavoro di ricostruzione della missione di scavo condotta dall’Istituto Papirologico «G. Vitelli» nell’inverno fra il 1964 e il 1965 sul sito di Arsinoe, antico capoluogo del distretto del Fayyum. Materiali d’archivio, reperti e papiri fanno luce sia sulle attività sul campo e sull’architettura del settore indagato, sia su alcuni aspetti della vita quotidiana nell’Egitto di età tolemaica e romana. La documentazione d’archivio è stata poi utilizzata per rendere nuovamente ‘visitabile’ – attraverso modelli 3D, digital storytelling e realtà aumentata – un sito archeologico per sempre scomparso a causa dell’incedere dell’urbanizzazione contemporanea.

This papyrus (3rd century BC) contains c. 200 incipits (first lines) of Greek epigrams with a numeral at the end of each line that gives the number of lines of the complete epigram ; most of them had 4 lines. Of these, only one has been ascribed to a known poet (Asklepiades), but it is by no means clear that all of them were his. Their publication, greatly aided by multispectral photography, is a very welcome addition to Hellenistic poetry

I frammenti di autori noti restituiscono brani di Omero, Erodoto, Senofonte, Demostene, Diodoro Siculo, nonché degli Atti degli Apostoli, di Gregorio di Nissa e di Basilio di Cesarea; fra i testi adespoti spiccano alcuni frammenti di prosa erudita. I testi paraletterari comprendono, oltre a due frammenti astronomici, un lessico e due glossari omerici. This XVII volume of the PSI series includes the edition of 62 texts, all preserved on papyri belonging to the Papyrological Institute «G. Vitelli». Fragments of known authors offer passages from Homer, Herodotus, Xenophon, Demosthenes, Diodorus Siculus, as well as the Acts of the Apostles, Gregory of Nyssa and Basil of Caesarea; some fragments of erudite prose stand out among the masterless texts. The paraliterary texts include, in addition to two astronomical fragments, a lexicon and two Homeric glossaries. There is a wide range of documentary texts, both official and private: reports, requests, contracts, certificates, declarations, accounts, letters.

Vitelli».
