Atrial fibrillation is a rapidly evolving epidemic associated with increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, and its prevalence has increased over the past few decades. In the past few years, the recent understanding of the diverse mechanisms of this arrhythmia has lead to the improvement of our therapeutic strategies. However, many clinicians have still felt the frustration in management of this commonly encountered arrhythmia. This book contains a spectrum of different topics from bench to bedside in atrial fibrillation. We strongly believe that scientists, cardiologists and electrophysiologists will find this book very informative and useful and the references cited in each chapter will definitely act as an additional source of information for readers.

In recent years the field of entomology, due in part to the penetration of other disciplines, has made rapid progress. “Recent Advances in Entomological Research: From Molecular Biology to Pest Management” includes 25 chapters contributed by more than 40 distinguished entomologists and introduces the latest progress in entomology, from molecular biology, insect-plant interactions and insecticide toxicology, to emerging technologies in pest management. Not only is the book interesting and informative, but it provides useful, innovative research advances and will serve as a valuable resource for entomologists, zoologists, botanists and other researchers in the field of plant protection. Tong-Xian Liu is a professor of entomology at the College of Plant Protection, Northwest A&F University, China. Le Kang is a professor of entomology at the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China.

This book mainly focuses on the application of AI technology in the field of ECG, and details the theoretical, practical, and evidence-based aspects of this technology. It extensively reviews the latest research reports, and discusses the application of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. This book focuses on the application of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, and discusses in depth its clinical application in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary heart disease, heart failure, arrhythmia, cardiac pacing, hypertension, myocardial disease, heart valve disease, electrolyte disorders, and other diseases. It not only provides an overview of medical artificial intelligence but also richly demonstrates its clinical practice, which will help cardiovascular doctors, electrocardiogram diagnostic doctors, or medical students to understand the basic theories, applications, and development direction of this field.

We examine the introduction of automatic air pollution monitoring, which is a central feature of China's "war on pollution." Exploiting 654 regression discontinuity designs based on city-level variation in the day that monitoring was automated, we find that reported PM₁₀ concentrations increased by 35% immediately post-automation and were sustained. City-level variation in underreporting is negatively correlated with income per capita and positively correlated with true pre-automation PM₁₀ concentrations. Further, automation's introduction increased online searches for face masks and air filters, suggesting that the biased and imperfect pre-automation information imposed welfare costs by leading to suboptimal purchases of protective goods.
