This book mainly focuses on the study of steering electromagnetic fields in near-field and far-field contexts involving plasmonic structures. It also offers a new approach to achieving full control of optical polarizations and potentially boosting the development in photonic information processing. A new in-plane phase modulation method is proposed and described, by means of which a series of optical beams were realized with nanostructures in metal surfaces, such as a plasmonic Airy beam, broad band focusing beam, and demultiplexing, collimated beam, as well as an optical orbital angular momentum (OAM) beam. Further, the book presents a plasmonic polarization generator, which can reconfigure an input polarization to all kinds of states simultaneously.

Building the Rule of Law in China explores the idea that China needs a more globalized and diversified vision for the science of law, presenting the need to think differently from the two major western mainstream legal cultures, the Anglo-American and the continental systems. Other globalized, universalized, and diversified models and experiences in the rule of law from diverse civilizations have much to offer China. Through learning from the strengths exhibited by systems in countries with a very developed and well-organized rule of law, and absorbing essential aspects from different countries, China might be well positioned to promote the development of the rule of law in a robust and comprehensive manner. This book explores the topic from several perspectives, giving the reader an up-to-date resource on the ever-evolving vision for the science of law in China. Cyber-Physical and Gentelligent Systems in Manufacturing and Life Cycle explores the latest technologies resulting from the integration of sensing components throughout the production supply chain, and the resulting possibilities to improve efficiency, flexibility, and product quality. The authors present cutting edge research into data storage in components, communication devices, data acquisition, as well as new industrial applications. Detailed technical descriptions of the tools are presented in addition to discussions of how these systems have been used, the benefits they provide, and what industry problems they could tackle in the future. This is essential reading for researchers and production engineers interested in the potential of cyber physical systems to optimize all parts of the supply chain.
