The first Bayesian Young Statisticians Meeting, BAYSM 2013, has provided a unique opportunity for young researchers, M.S. students, Ph.D. students, and post-docs dealing with Bayesian statistics to connect with the Bayesian community at large, exchange ideas, and network with scholars working in their field. The Workshop, which took place June 5th and 6th 2013 at CNR-IMATI, Milan, has promoted further research in all the fields where Bayesian statistics may be employed under the guidance of renowned plenary lecturers and senior discussants. The International Conference on Health Care Systems Engineering (HCSE) provided a timely opportunity to discuss statistical analysis and operations management issues in health care delivery systems. The conference took place in Milan between May 22nd and 24th, 2013. Scientists and practitioners discussed new ideas, methods and technologies for improving the operation of health care organizations. This book demonstrates how optimization, system engineering and statistics can help to improve health care provision and health systems. It gathers the proceedings of the Fourth International Conference on Health Care Systems Engineering (HCSE 2019), which was held in Montreal, Canada, from May 30 to June 1, 2019. The conference provided an opportunity to discuss operations management issues in health care delivery systems, and allowed scientists and practitioners to exchange their latest ideas, methods and technologies for improving the operation of health care organizations.
