This single self-study programme brings you an objective and balanced review of core orthopaedic knowledge and recent developments. The intent of its authors and editors is to provide the basic information with which all orthopaedic surgeons should be familiar. More than 150 authors have contributed to this book and the editors have evaluated thousands of articles from around the world, selecting the most important literature published. The accessible and standardized format of the text should help you quickly review a broad cross-section of literature or concentrate on specific topics. Chapters on paediatric and adult disorders are presented in the same sections to reinforce the continuum in management between paediatric and adult patients, and more images to support the text are included than ever before.

"Handbook of Fractures is a concise, bulleted review of fractures throughout the body. Each chapter reviews epidemiology, anatomy, mechanism of injury, clinical evaluation, imaging (which includes the formal classification systems used to name and grade fracture types), non-operative and operative treatment, and complications. This title is an almost obligatory purchase for first-year orthopaedic residents, and is also purchased in substantial numbers by other specialties involved in fracture care, including Pas and NPs in either orthopaedic or emergency medicine settings. It is very simply written, and many of the illustrations are derived from the Rockwood and Green franchise. Importantly, this title covers adult and pediatric fractures, and is thus usable in primary care, especially family practice settings."--Publisher.
