In recent times, we have experienced unprecedented global warming on earth. It is obvious that our physical environment, our common home, is under threat. In this study, we develop five chapters in order to find out which anthropological stance in. First, we investigate if the plea for sustainability of creation in Laudato Si' (nos. 13, 23) is plausible when confronted with Rockström's Planetary Boundaries (PB) concept. Secondly, we explore how relevant the updated version of the dominion model in Laudato Si' no. 67 is from the view point of the PB model. Thirdly, we examine if the stewardship model, often used in recent documents of CST, is a more adequate anthropological stance vis-a-vis the environmental challenges. Fourthly, we study the Orthodox perspective that humans have a vocation as priests of creation, in order to evaluate in the final chapter whether it is a good alternative to the Latin Christian dominion and stewardship models.
