This thesis explores the cultural and religious experience of Syrian refugees in Belgium from their arrival until their integration, discussing multiple aspects of asylum-seeking experience in Europe, starting from the journey to the interaction with the new surrounding environment and how the role of religion in their life has changed during this diaspora. Using Autoethnographic research, I discover with my five interlocutors the cultural, social, and emotional dimensions of the path of Syrian refugees to Belgium until settling here, in addition to answering questions about the relationships between us - Syrians in Belgium- and the local Belgian community, and between the Syrians themselves.
