Thema der Beiträge dieses Sammelbands sind die komplexen Abbildungsverhältnisse zwischen semantischen Rollen und diathetischen Kategorien wie Aktiv, Passiv und Medium in romanischen Sprachen. Der unterschiedliche Funktionsumfang dieser Kategorien sowie die daraus resultierenden, vielschichtigen Bezüge zwischen Semantik, Syntax und Informationsstruktur des Satzes lassen sich nur mittels eines multifaktoriellen Beschreibungsansatzes angemessen erfassen. Daher liegt vielen Artikeln eine von Prototypen ausgehende, nicht-diskrete Sichtweise zugrunde. Als Bezugspunkt dient zumeist die Transitivitätshypothese von Hopper/Thompson. These articles all revolve around the complex imaging relations between semantic roles and diathetic categories such as active, passive and medium in Romance languages. The varying functional scope of these categories and the correspondingly multifarious relations between semantics, syntax and information structure of the sentence can only be appropriately discussed with a multi-factorial descriptive approach. Hence the perspective informing many of these articles is prototype-oriented and non-discrete. In most cases the authors take their bearings from the transitivity hypothesis proposed by Hopper and Thompson.
