Preamble of the thesis In this dissertation, there is a deliberate attempt to bring my identity into perspective, I will be exposing intimate aspects of my life and my family in order treat my experien- ce as anthropological study representative of other third culture children coming from my same area. The language I adopt may appear more colloquial at times, but this is intentional as it intends to entertain the readers whilst gently conveying them gory realities. On the first part I will be addressing in detail my ancestors and for that I will open up about my Grandfather’s past, subsequently following a chronological line there will be aneddotes on family members alongside a debate on neo-colonialism. I also intended later a to panel a discussion on the practices of some artists such as Kader Attia and Sara Ouhaddou, and a comparison with the story of a supermodel. I inclued visual sources coming mostly from my families archive to gentily accompany the narrative. Ultimately, these exploration will close with an examination that refines the idea of the personification of identity by recalling pretty recent news and examples linked to areas that may not be strictly artistic but are nonetheless social phenomenons that are worth mention.
