The tour gave European audiences the unique opportunity of seeing many of the top Stax recording artists live on stage together: Booker T. & The MG's, Sam & Dave. Shortly after the "Stax-Volt" Tour 1967, Otis Redding gave his most memorable performance at the Monterey Pop Festival, California June 17, 1967. A few months later he was to tragically die in a plane crash.
