Flemish Paintings part III is the third in a series of catalogue raisonnés dealing with Dutch and Flemish Paintings in the Nationalmuseum. This volume covers the Flemish painting from the NTth and NUth century. Many of the works originate from the royal collections and others were acquired through the agency of Sweden’s most important collector, Carl Gustaf Tessin. Nationalmuseum owns several paintings by Rubens, the two most important being The Worship of Venus and The acchanal at Andros which came trough Marshal Jean Baptiste Bernadotte to Sweden and were presented to the museum in NUSS. The collection also holds important works by Anthonis van Dyck, Jan Brueghel I, Jacob Jordaens, Frans Snyders, Jan Fyt and others.
