Abstract

From the middle of the twentieth century, dozens of medievalists and other performers have recorded early English. Many educational institutions already own sound recordings of English before 1500, or may wish to purchase the most useful ones available. This discography aims to assist teachers, administrators and librarians to make the best use of their resources.

Abstract

First published in 1972, The Comedy of Eros is an unusual combination of the ancient and the contemporary. It includes thirteenth- century translations and adaptations of Ovid's Ars amatoria as well as original medieval treatises and poems on love and courtesy, while its illustrations --seven woodcuts by Robert and Corinne Borja-- are a delightful blend of modern and medieval styles.
