India's relationship with Israel has been one of the most sensitive and controversial issues in New Delhi's diplomatic history. In September 1950, India decided to recognise the newly created state of Israel but deferred the establishment of diplomatic relations until January 1992. Rather than solely concentrating on the last two decades of the relationship, this book takes a broader historical perspective to understand the formation and evolution of India's Israel policy since the pre-Independence period.

In this book, a team of international contributors examine the often-overlooked complex governance of this migration corridor. Going beyond state-centric analysis, the contributors present a multi-layered account of the 'migration governance complex.' They offer insights not only into the actors involved in the different components of migration governance, but also into the varying ways of interpreting and explaining the meaning and value of these interactions.
