Les dernières décennies ont vu l’émergence d’un grand nombre de nouveaux musées qui ont contribué à interroger le rôle et la place de ces institutions au sein de nos sociétés. Quels rôles assument les musées nés de ce nouveau contexte? Que révèle leur architecture? Qui en sont les initiateurs et quelle est leur ambition? Enfin, quels liens entretiennent ces institutions avec le public, alors même que notre relation à la culture est révolutionnée par le monde numérique? L’exposition se propose d’examiner ce phénomène culturel, en passant en revue une quinzaine de musées choisis tout autour de la planète. Différents de par leurs formes et leurs ambitions, ils sont abordés sous l’angle de leur architecture, des problématiques économiques, politiques et sociales qu’ils soulèvent, mais également en regard de leurs visions culturelles respectives.

Taking a fresh approach to discussions around one of the twentieth century's greatest artists, Picasso: The Artist and His Muses examines the significance of the six women who were most important to Picasso's artistic development, as well as exploring in depth the notion of the artist/muse relationship.
