Belgian design duo Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen have worked together since 2011, drawing inspiration from their respective family roots to create an innovative and minimalistic modern furniture collection. The pair’s use of simple industrial materials in combination with a rich color palette has created an influential body of work. The duo has achieved significant commercial fame in recent years with major brand collaborations from Hermès to Airbnb, as well as accessibly priced capsule collections of design objects with stores such as Hay and Matter NYC.Through conversations and visual references, this publication unveils the origins and complexities of, and the references embedded in, the DNA of Muller Van Severen’s work. Curator Jan Boelen explores the designers’ universe through interviews with them, alongside curator and critic Beatrice Galilee, and architects Arno Brandlhuber and Sam Chermayeff. The End Is Never Near donne un aperçu complet de l’œuvre du peintre belge Jan Van Imschoot (né en 1963 à Gand, Belgique). Son oeoeuvre, qui s’articule autour de thèmes historiques tirés de la littérature et de l’histoire de l’art, crée des ponts avec ses prédécesseurs comme Le Caravage, le Tintoret, Goya et Manet. L’artiste engage un dialogue permanent avec le passé, dans lequel il cible souvent, avec un certain cynisme, des phénomènes ou des personnages en marge de la société contemporaine. Cette monographie, qui rassemble plus de 200 oeoeuvres de Jan Van Imschoot, comprend des essais approfondis de Selen Ansen, Dieter Roelstraete, Alain Tapié et Philippe Van Cauteren, ainsi qu’une longue conversation entre l’artiste et Hendrik Folkerts.

The End Is Never Near gives a comprehensive overview of the oeuvre of Belgian painter Jan Van Imschoot (born 1963, Ghent, Belgium). His work is built up around historical themes from literature and art history, and builds bridges to predecessors such as Caravaggio, Tintoretto, Goya and Manet, amongst others. The artist engages in a continuous dialogue with the past, in which, with a dose of cynicism, he often targets phenomena or fifigures that fifind themselves on the fringes of (contemporary) society. This monograph brings together more than 200 works by Jan Van Imschoot and includes in-depth essays by Selen Ansen, Dieter Roelstraete, Alain Tapié and Philippe Van Cauteren, as well as an extensive conversation between the artist and Hendrik Folkerts.
