The editors of Experiments in Empathy: Critical Reflections on Interreligious Education have assembled a volume that spans multiple religious traditions and offers innovative methods for teaching and designing interreligious learning. La question du sens de notre vie nous concerne tous et nous la mettons pourtant à bonne distance de nos préoccupations quotidiennes. Pas le temps pour ça, entend-on. N'est-ce pas étonnant ? Pour faire face à cet oubli de la question du sens de notre vie, nous avons élaboré une proposition sur le sens qui accompagnera les textes présentés. En voici les prémices : dans l'histoire de la pensée, la question ne semble véritablement apparaître qu'à partir du moment où, pour l'homme, les dieux sont morts. Dès lors, le sens ne va plus de soi, il n'est plus donné, il est à inventer et à construire. Ce manuel s'adresse prioritairement aux élèves de 17-18 ans, mais peut également parler à d'autres, désireux de parcourir des chemins philosophiques qui tendent à répondre à la question du sens de la vie.

Les essais ici réunis sont les actes du colloque organisé en 2015 par le Collège international de philosophie. L'ouvrage questionne le rôle des humanités dans la construction des idées universitaires en Europe.
