Helen Jacquet Gordon (1918-2013) et Jean Jacquet (1921-2016) formaient un couple à la ville comme dans le travail. Très complémentaires - l'égyptologue et l'architecte -, ils se sont rencontrés sur le sol égyptien à Mit Rahina en 1956 et ne se sont plus quittés ensuite. Ces entretiens, réalisés au soir de leur vie, permettent de faire avec eux plus ample connaissance et de les suivre sur les différents chantiers de fouilles auxquels ils ont participé.
