This thesis investigates the influence of outsourcing on supply chain resilience within the Moroccan pharmaceutical sector, using case studies of Sanofi, Pharma 5, SOTHEMA, and Cooper Pharma through the Eisenhardt method. The research reveals that outsourcing non-core functions, such as logistics and secondary manufacturing, enhances operational efficiency and flexibility, enabling companies to concentrate on core activities. Diversified outsourcing partnerships, strong supplier relationships, and advanced technologies are identified as critical in mitigating risks and ensuring supply continuity. Regulatory compliance in outsourcing decisions is also crucial for maintaining quality and integrity. Despite limitations like the small sample size, the study provides valuable theoretical and practical insights, highlighting the importance of strategic outsourcing, robust partnerships, and technology integration in strengthening pharmaceutical supply chain resilience.

This thesis investigates consumer attitudes and collection strategies within Belgium's smartphone refurbishment industry, emphasizing the circular economy's role in tackling electronic waste (e-waste). A survey was conducted to collect data on consumer behavior, intentions, and perceptions regarding refurbished smartphones and the resale of unused devices. The results not only highlight the significance of quality, price, and warranty in purchasing decisions but also propose a buyback price model for refurbishers. This pricing guide is intended to align with consumer expectations and improve the effectiveness of smartphone collection efforts. Additionally, the study incorporates a PEST analysis to evaluate the political, economic, social, and technological factors influencing the industry. The principal aim is to promote sustainable practices within the smartphone sector, thereby reducing e-waste and supporting environmental sustainability.

The expansion of agricultural land is closely correlated with increased deforestation. In response, the European Commission, aiming to prevent complicity in deforestation, has introduced the EUDR regulation, which notably encompasses commodities such as coffee. The primary objective of the EUDR is to prevent commodities produced in deforested areas from being imported into or exported from the EU. The first and second chapters of the literature review will respectively explore the context and the nature of this regulation. In contrast, the third chapter will delve into the obligations it imposes, particularly the requirement for collecting specific information, which forms the core subject of this thesis. Various stakeholders are required to collect data to demonstrate, on the one hand, that no deforestation or forest degradation has occurred, and on the other hand, that farmers have adhered to specific local legislation in the producing countries. Consequently, this work aims to provide stakeholders within the coffee supply chain with guidelines to ensure compliance with the regulation. To achieve this, a qualitative methodology was employed. Interviews were conducted with different categories of stakeholders in the coffee supply chain to establish a common framework for addressing the issue of information collection. This common framework facilitated the development of a list of tools for gathering information and disseminating it throughout the supply chain. Additionally, the thesis contributes by conducting an introspective analysis of the potential use of blockchain technology within the framework of the EUDR. Lastly, experts on the EUDR regulation were consulted to assess the measures implemented by stakeholders, thereby enhancing the reliability of the guidelines for information collection.

This study emerged from observing a paradoxical reality. On one hand, cargo bikes are regularly presented as a concrete ecological alternative to conventional vehicles for city center transportation, offering solutions to urban environmental issues such as traffic congestion, poor air quality, and greenhouse gas emissions. On the other hand, it seems that cycle logistics companies are not proliferating, and those that do exist are not experiencing significant growth. Through meetings and interviews with key stakeholders, including small and medium-sized businesses in the center of Liège potentially concerned with this issue, we sought to understand the gap between the theoretical benefits highlighted in the literature and the limited enthusiasm observed in practice. In the first phase, we redefined the various concepts applicable to the theme we are exploring. After a brief historical overview, we contextualized the debate within the broader framework of climate challenges, before examining how the literature addresses the opportunities and weaknesses associated with the use of cargo bikes. The second part of our work focuses on reporting the interviews conducted with business owners in Liège. The results are grouped around various sub-themes to compare them as effectively as possible with the conclusions of the literature. Subsequently, we attempt to identify the reasons behind the general lack of enthusiasm among businesses for adopting cargo bikes. As a counterpoint, we propose some avenues for reflection to help boost this mode of transport. At this point, we will see that solutions cannot be isolated from a broader vision of the supply chain and, more generally, our consumption patterns.
