La educación universitaria es una de las etapas más importantes en la formación de los individuos, ya que proporciona los conocimientos y herramientas necesarios para desempeñarse en el mundo laboral y contribuir al desarrollo del país. En el Perú y América Latina, la calidad de la educación universitaria ha sido un tema de preocupación durante muchos años, y aunque se han realizado esfuerzos para mejorarla, aún existen muchos desafíos por enfrentar. En el presente texto, en el primer capítulo se esboza la reconfiguración de la actual responsabilidad social universitaria en el Perú que puede ser factible si se implantan políticas educativas humanísticas, con valores éticos, y en las que la investigación sea el factor principal para una mejor vida colectiva. Así también se presenta un capítulo con una propuesta pedagógica de innovación en tecnología que busca fortalecer las competencias digitales de docentes y estudiantes de una institución educativa superior. Por otra parte, se presenta un capítulo que aborda el tema de investigación dentro del modelo de acreditación universitaria del Perú, destacándose la importancia de seguir investigando y formando investigadores en las universidades, con el fin de lograr la calidad educativa, y finalmente se presenta el capítulo de paradigmas de la investigación en las ciencias sociales a través de una revisión bibliográfica, concluyendo que todo investigador debe conocer los elementos que fundamentan los paradigmas ya que, sirven de guía metodológica para realizar un estudio.

Scientific research generates data. However, if the quality of the data is poor and unreliable, progress will be impeded- sometimes for years. Scientists conducting research must be fully equipped with the appropriate tools to plan and execute well managed, reproducible scientific research. The aim of this book is to introduce the topic of quality assurance management systems such as ISO17025 and ISO9001 to scientists at an early stage in their careers. It describes the issues they are likely to encounter in the workplace: what should be done to check (and double-check) their work and how to document what they have done. Chan’s book explores the challenges in assessing experiential learning, deepens our understanding, and inspires readers to think critically about the purpose of assessment in experiential learning.Experiential learning has been studied and proven to be effective for student learning, particularly for the development of holistic competencies (i.e. 21st century skills, soft skills, transferable skills) considered essential for individuals to succeed in the increasingly global and technology-infused 21st century society. Universities around the world are now actively organising experiential learning activities or programmes for students to gain enriching and diversified learning experiences, however the assessment of these programmes tends to be limited, unclear, and contested.Assessment plays a central role in education policies and students’ approach to learning. But do educators know how to assess less traditional learning such as service learning, entrepreneurship, cross-discipline or cross-cultural projects, internships and student exchanges? While the current assessment landscape is replete with assessments that measure knowledge of core content areas such as mathematics, law, languages, science and social studies, there is a lack of assessments and research that focus on holistic competencies.
