This dissertation by Feyza Axelsson explores study guidance practices in science for recently arrived Turkish-speaking pupils in Sweden. The research focuses on how tutors use scaffolding techniques, including translations and question-answer sessions, to assist pupils in understanding scientific content. The study highlights the role of multimodal and multilingual interactions in enhancing pupils' learning experiences. However, it also identifies challenges such as simplified discussions and incorrect translations that can hinder the pupils' advanced scientific understanding.
