Zur Fachsprache der protestantischen Theologie liegen nur wenige wissenschaftliche Studien vor. Diesem Mangel soll mit der vorliegenden Publikation begegnet werden, indem ein Überblick über Haupttendenzen der protestantisch-theologischen Fachsprache vom 19. bis 21. Jahrhundert aus germanistisch-linguistischer Perspektive präsentiert wird. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Frage, welche Rolle rein sprachliche Elemente bei der Vermittlung theologischer Diskurse spielen. Eine zentrale Rolle spielt das Phänomen einer über das Inhaltliche hinausgehenden sprachgestalterischen Komponente, die für die theologische Fachsprache wesentlich ist. Ermittelt wird in der Untersuchung, ob die protestantisch-theologische Wissenschaftssprache besonders anfällig für ideologische Entstellung und inhaltliche Vagheit ist und inwieweit die in politisch-historischen Kontexten variierenden fachbegrifflichen Konnotationen der Vereinnahmung durch externe Einflüsse ausgesetzt waren und sind. Die Monografie leistet einen Beitrag zur germanistischen Fachsprachenforschung im Bereich der Humanwissenschaften, ist aber auch für Theologen im Hinblick auf die linguistische Seite ihrer Wissenschaftssprache von Interesse. This publication provides a diachronic overview of the main tendencies in Protestant theological jargon and academic language from the nineteenth to twenty-first centuries from a Germanist-linguistic perspective. Using analyses of special linguistic features in the works of representative authors and in predominant academic currents, it thoroughly illuminates the role of linguistic phenomena in Protestant theological jargon.
