La Fnir (Fédération nationale des infirmiers de réanimation) s'est constituée en juin 2020. Elle regroupe des infirmiers de réanimation de différentes associations professionnelles et collectifs dont la Société Française d'Anesthésie Réanimation (SFAR), la Société Française des Infirmiers de Soins Intensifs (SFISI), la Société de Réanimation de Langue Française (SRLF), ou encore le Groupe Francophone de Réanimation et d'Urgences Pédiatriques (GFRUP). Le besoin de constituer une Fédération nationale des infirmiers de réanimation est apparu comme une évidence vu la spécificité des compétences et des techniques maîtrisées par les infirmiers de réanimation, mise en lumière au cours de l'épidémie de Coronavirus. Ce livre a pour but d'aider l'infirmier(e) débutant en réanimation à se familiariser avec les techniques de suppléance du patient dont le pronostic vital est mis en jeu, à acquérir de l'autonomie et de la confiance en soi. Il expose avec clarté les principes et les différentes techniques de la prise en charge infirmière du patient en réanimation pour les principales fonctions (respiratoire, circulatoire, neurologique, rénale et digestive) ainsi que les soins d'hygiène et de prévention, l'éthique et la formation.
