Abstract

Abstract

The Belgian loess belt and its watersheds are particularly affected by runoff and erosion[Bielders et al., 2003], causing significant damages [Dogot et al., 2019]. Specialists are reflecting on watershed management which, in addition to combating these disturbing phenomena, promotes a wealth of ecosystem services (ES). The objective of this work is to evaluate theecosystem services of different existing developments in the fight against runoff and soil erosionin an agricultural catchment in the Belgian Loessic belt. Based on the work of [Cantreul, 2020],nine management scenarios of the experimental watershed of Chastre, in addition to the initialscenario, are used to evaluate the services of pollination, carbon storage, agricultural production, landscape attractiveness and erosion prevention. These scenarios are established by specialistson the basis of grassed strips and channels, wooded strips, hedges, fascines and changes in thedirection and intensity of tillage. The ES of pollination, carbon storage and erosion preventionare assessed using InVEST models. A methodology based on the loss of utilised agricultural area(SAU) is developed for the agricultural production service and a survey-based methodology isused for landscape attractiveness. The results obtained are rich and varied. The scenarios withthe best results for pollination, carbon storage, landscape attractiveness and erosion preventionare also the most expensive to implement and they have the greatest impacts on SAU. Thechoice of an ideal management scenario must take into account the trade-offs between ES andthe synergies between them.

Abstract

This book reasserts the importance of case formulation as the first step in implementing effective cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT), centering it as the main operative tool of CBT approaches by which the therapist handles the whole psychotherapeutic process. Chapters discuss specific CBT interventions and components of the treatment, aspecific factors including therapeutic alliance and relationship, and theoretical and historical background of CBT practices. In addition, the book assumes that in CBTs the case formulation is a procedure which is continuously shared and reevaluated between patient and therapist throughout the course of treatment. This aspect is increasingly becoming the distinguishing feature of CBT approaches as it embodies CBT's basic tenets and implies full confidence in patients' conscious agreement, transparent cooperation and explicit commitment with CBT's model of clinical change.
