Geowijzer Geowijzer is een overzichtelijke en toegankelijk geschreven aardrijkskundemethode voor de pabo. Het boek biedt studenten een uitstekende voorbereiding op de onderwijspraktijk en is zeer geschikt voor zelfstudie. Geowijzer behandelt de kerndoelen van Ruimte en de aardrijkskundige kerndoelen van Mens en samenleving en van Natuur en techniek. De pabostudent kan kennisnemen van de meest actuele thema's en nieuwste inzichten binnen het vakgebied. Het boek legt bovendien een link met de aardrijkskundige aspecten van de canon van Nederland. Geowijzer bestaat uit twee delen: — Het eerste deel, Kennisbasis inhoud, is rijk geïllustreerd en zorgt voor een vakinhoudelijke basis. — Het tweede deel, Kennisbasis didactiek, behandelt de nieuwste vakdidactische principes en ontwikkelingen. Het boek is volledig geactualiseerd, zowel wat betreft vakinhoud als vakdidactiek. Twee vakdidactische hoofdstukken zijn vervangen door actuelere thema's: Aardrijkskunde en taal en Aardrijkskunde aan het jonge kind. Daarnaast zijn er concrete lesideeën opgenomen in het boek. This book presents a comprehensive debate and analysis of existing Territorial Impact Assessment (TIA) methodologies, designed under the auspices of the ESPON programme since the mid-2000s. This is intended to serve as a TIA handbook for the reader, to better understand the main differences, advantages and shortcomings of each presented TIA methodology. It also serves as a manual for professors and students in the field of policy evaluation, and territorial analysis, as it presents concrete examples of the implementation of each TIA methodology, their formulas and intrinsic evaluation elements. The purpose of policy evaluation methodologies is to check the main effects of private and public investments, in order to report back to policymakers and citizens on their efficiency and effectiveness. Over the past decades, both in Europe and worldwide, there has been an increasingly awareness of the need to implement/reinforce policy evaluation practices, at all territorial levels. At the same time, it has become widely accepted that many policy interventions produce impacts in more than one dimensions of territorial development. In this context, the use of a holistic and territorial approach for policy impact assessment evaluation has rapidly been adopted by the European Commission as a mainstream policy evaluation procedure.

International scholarship is increasingly aware that the ‘geographical tradition’ is a contentious and contested field: while critical reflections on the imperial past of the discipline are still ongoing, new tendencies including de-colonial studies and geographies of internationalism are focusing on the progressive aspects of plural geographical traditions. This volume contains selected papers presented at two Symposia of the Commission on the History of Geography of the International Geographical Union within the 25th International Congress of History of Science and Technology which took place in Rio de Janeiro in July 2017. The papers address processes of ‘decolonising’ and ‘internationalising’ science in the 19th and 20th century, with a special emphasis on geography. Internationalization, circulation and dissemination of geographical concepts and ideas are in the focus. The volume includes case studies on Latin America, tropical regions as well as Europe and Japan. There is also an emphasis on the history of international congresses and organizations and on the international circulation of knowledge.
