This book presents new research on sight translation using cutting-edge eye-tracking technology. It covers various aspects of sight translation processes of both novice and professional interpreters, such as their textual processing behaviors, problem-solving patterns and reading-speech coordination. By focusing on the features of their gaze behaviors, the book describes the interpreters' processing behaviors and categorizes them into different processing styles. As one of the first books on sight translation employing an eye-tracking technique as the research method, it offers a valuable reference guide for future eye-tracking-based translation and interpreting research.

Cognitive models and software tools have been widely used for both research and commercial purposes. Although they have proved very useful, there are some limitations preventing large-scale modeling and simulation tasks to be carried out efficiently and effectively. In this book, we aim to provide readers with a systematic overview of state-of-the-art cognitive modeling software tools and applications and an introduction to a new software framework for facilitating large-scale modeling and simulation of human-performance tasks. The authors first review cognitive modeling theories and then present an overview of state-of-the-art software tools for cognitive modeling and simulation. Finally, the book focuses on the new software framework and a research prototype called CogTool+, including how to incorporate behavioral data such as eye-tracking data in modeling and simulation tasks. Typical applications of CogTool+ in HCI and cyber security are given to demonstrate its usefulness.

Despite the ever-increasing interest in eye tracking, there is still no comprehensive work on the potential and applications of table-mounted and mobile head-mounted eye tracking solutions in travel and tourism. This volume bridges that gap, effectively linking eye tracking with travel and tourism. It presents, on the one hand, novel academic contributions on the concept of eye tracking, and on the other, practice-oriented case studies that illustrate the use and strategic value of eye tracking in travel and tourism. It provides concrete and novel insights into tourist behavior and the tourist consumer experience and, for the academic community, offers a comprehensive, scientifically based overview of the empirical, methodological, theoretical, and practical contributions of eye tracking research. Accordingly, the book will be of value to a diverse audience. It will be a useful resource for existing and future tourism businesses, allowing them to adopt proactive approaches in the design of tourism products. It will also stimulate further research in the field and inspire scholars and practitioners to combine their ideas and expertise, to look beyond supposedly fixed horizons, and to identify emerging opportunities. .
