Sprotni slovar slovenskega jezika 2018 prinaša novejše, uveljavljajoče se besedje, ki ga še ni v drugih slovarjih, predlagajo pa ga zlasti jezikovni uporabniki, in v nekoliko manjši meri najnovejše pomene besedja, ki je v drugih slovarjih že zajeto. Iztočnice so opremljene s polnimi oblikoslovnimi podatki in temeljnimi podatki o pomenu, rabi in morebitni zaznamovanosti besede.

Both compounds and multi-word expressions are complex lexical units, made up of at least two constituents. The most basic difference is that the former are morphological objects and the latter result from syntactic processes. However, the exact demarcation between compounds and multi-word expressions differs greatly from language to language and is often a matter of debate in and across languages. Similarly debated is whether and how these two different kinds of units complement or compete with each other. The volume presents an overview of compounds and multi-word expressions in a variety of European languages. Central questions that are discussed for each language concern the formal distinction between compounds and multi-word expressions, their formation and their status in lexicon and grammar. The volume contains chapters on German, English, Dutch, French, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Russian, Polish, Finnish, and Hungarian as well as a contrastive overview with a focus on German. It brings together insights from word-formation theory, phraseology and theory of grammar and aims to contribute to the understanding of the lexicon, both from a language-specific and cross-linguistic perspective.

This book analyses from various perspectives topical and empirical issues related to language, media and technologies. To be more precise, the book studies the revitalisation of minority languages through the media, the pragmatics of condolence messages in online news fora, the use of corpora to analyse of grammatical items, punctuation in cyber texts, the conceptualisation of social ills such as corruption in online media, the gendered use of language in chat groups, issues on language and identity in online fora and digital practices such as internet memes. The volume comprises 10 papers whose data were collected from questionnaire, participant observation, written materials, online and audio-visual sources, just to name a few. The analyses done in the various papers are sociolinguistic, cognitive, graphological, morphological, lexical, discursive, semantic, pragmatic, etc. --

This book examines the legacy of Pindar’s phraseology by bringing together the results and methods of classical studies with those of historical linguistics. Besides providing new insights into individual passages in Pindar, this study demonstrates Pindar’s dominant role in the history of Greek literature and identifies new set pieces from Indogermanic poetic language.

Slovar slovenskega knjižnega jezika 2018 prinaša sodoben jezikovni opis izseka večplastne in kompleksne jezikovne realnosti slovenskega jezika glede na jezikovno rabo, izkazano v raznovrstnih sodobnih, predvsem korpusnih, gradivskih virih. V okviru 532 slovarskih sestavkov, ki jih na makrostrukturni ravni uvaja enobesedna iztočnica, so celovito in sistematično opisane pomenske, slovnične, pragmatične in druge lastnosti eno- in večbesednih nefrazeoloških in frazeoloških leksikalnih enot. Slovarska zasnova je natančneje prikazana v Konceptu novega razlagalnega slovarja slovenskega knjižnega jezika, ki so ga leta 2015 potrdili in sprejeli Znanstveni svet Inštituta za slovenski jezik Frana Ramovša ZRC SAZU, Znanstveni svet ZRC SAZU, Razred za filološke in literarne vede SAZU in Predsedstvo SAZU.

Phraseology is often thought of as an anomaly and a headache for language learners. However, researchers have tended to focus on just one end of the scale: fairly fixed, conventional multi-word units. Here their special status and any divergence from the standard form are clearly evident. What happens at the other end of the scale? How much and what kind of variability does phraseological patterning tolerate? Svetlana Vetchinnikova explores meaning-shift units (MSUs) in second language usage, acquisition and processing. Importantly, she argues for the value of looking at individual languages and tracing MSUs as they are learned from exposure, used in individual language output and processed in the mind - and advocates a shift of focus from groups to individuals. This important study develops a unified view on phraseological patterning in second language acquisition and use and the processes which lead to it.
