115 mittelalterliche Handschriften werden in diesem Katalog prasentiert. Sie stammen aus Luzerner Kloster- und Privatbibliotheken, die uber Jahrhunderte gewachsen sind, und reichen von Fragmenten aus dem 8. Jahrhundert bis zu Diebold Schillings 1513 fertiggestellter Schweizer Chronik. Enthalten sind theologische, liturgische, kirchenrechtliche und -geschichtliche, historische, literarische, rhetorische, medizinische und juristische Texte aus dem Franziskanerkloster St. Maria in der Au Luzern und den kleinen Provenienzen in der Zentral- und Hochschulbibliothek Luzern sowie dem Staatsarchiv Luzern, dem Provinzarchiv der Schweizer Kapuziner Luzern und den Kapuzinerbibliotheken Luzern und Sursee. Der Katalog beschreibt im Detail Inhalt, materielle Beschaffenheit, Entstehung und Geschichte der Handschriften. Erschlossen sind die Inhalte durch Register der Verfasser, Namen, Orte und Sachen sowie durch zwei Initienregister. Eine ausfuhrliche bibliotheksgeschichtliche Einleitung stellt die beschriebenen Handschriften in den Kontext der Luzerner Kultur- und Geistesgeschichte.
