Jusqu'à un certain point, la douleur de l'exil nous apparaît comme une réaction adaptée. Mais, trop longue, trop intense, elle inquiète, malgré la compréhension et l'empathie qu'elle suscite. Certains exilés sont dans l'incapacité de laisser perdre leurs attaches territoriales. Au-delà de l'évidence, au travers de l'histoire d'exilés anonymes et d'exilés célèbres, il se dégage un profil spécifique de saga familiale. On peut voir que sur plusieurs générations l'idéalisation fait obstacle à des forces internes déstructurantes.
