Ce présent travail a pour objectif de quantifier la pollution d’une rivière face aux activités industrielles. Notre zone d’étude représente une très forte concentration en zones industrielles avec une domination du secteur textile. Ces industries déversent leurs eaux usées brutes dans la rivière Ikopa et entrainent la pollution de l’eau de la rivière. Pour bien mener cette étude, quatre points ont été analysés : en amont des rejets, les deux principaux points de rejets industriels et en aval des rejets (à environ 2 km). L’analyse a montré que les eaux usées industrielles ont des concentrations physico-chimiques relativement supérieures aux normes de rejets industriels selon la législation à Madagascar. Aucun suivi n’a été fait par les autorités concernées malgré l’existence des textes législatifs concernant les rejets et la protection de l’environnement. Face à cette problématique, la mise en place d’un système de traitement des eaux usées industrielles simple, efficace et facile à mettre en œuvre dans un pays en développement « les bassins de lagunage naturel » a été choisi.
