La 4e de couverture indique: " L’Egitto e il Vicino Oriente antichi non sono mai stati così vicini come il 5 e il 6 giugno 2017 a Pisa, quando si sono riuniti molti degli studiosi italiani attivi nella ricerca e nell’insegnamento in campi quali l’Anatolistica, l’Archeologia del Vicino Oriente, l’Assiriologia, l’Ebraistica, l’Egittologia, la Semitistica e la Storia del Vicino Oriente Antico. In questi due giorni colleghi di discipline diverse si sono confrontati sia su un ripensamento critico del passato e del presente degli studi orientalistici, sia sul loro futuro: quello che si va delineando e quello che si vuole costruire, presentando gli ultimi risultati delle ricerche in atto, eventuali nuove problematiche, approcci metodologici e tendenze. Il volume raccoglie le relazioni tenute al convegno; esse fanno riferimento a temi comuni all’Egitto e al Vicino Oriente antico, quali le dinamiche politiche, sociali, ed economiche legate alla ricostruzione storica, i contesti archeologici e i corpora di oggetti, l’archeologia del paesaggio, le interazioni culturali e socio-geografi che, i problemi linguistici e le edizioni di testi."

Quelles formes dramaturgiques, dans leur double dimension esthétique et idéologique, le théâtre oriental privilégie-t-il depuis son émergence récente ? Comment est-on passé, dans le monde occidental et jusqu'au Japon, des formes dramaturgiques des années soixante-dix, de la multiplication des happenings, des performances, des productions collectives et des pré-textes - où la mise en scène du corps tient une place croissante - à ce « retour du texte » partout patent depuis la fin des années quatre-vingt-dix ? Comment ont évolué, au cours de ces quatre décennies, les multiples paramètres de la représentation théâtrale ? Quelles conséquences cette évolution a-t-elle induites quant à la nature du texte théâtral, à sa portée idéologique, aux rapports entre texte et scène ? Quelles thématiques y sont privilégiées ? Comment s'opèrent les influences d'une dramaturgie à l'autre, d'une aire culturelle à une autre, d'une époque à une autre ? Quelle place y tient le spectateur ? Quels sont les nouveaux outils d'approche de ces textes ? On trouvera des réponses à ces questions dans la présente publication.

The first section, comprising most of the contributions, is devoted to Assyriology and ancient Near Eastern archaeology. The second and third sections are devoted to Egyptology and to ancient Israel and biblical studies respectively, neighbouring fields of research included in the volume to enrich the debate and facilitate academic exchange. Altogether these essays offer a variety of sources and perspectives, from the textual to the archaeological, from bodies and sexuality to onomastics, to name just a few, making this a useful resource for all those interested in the study of women and gender in the past.
