De huidige verlosafdeling is gebaseerd op samenwerken, vakgrenzen overschrijden, transmurale zorg … Helaas zijn dat echter nog al te vaak niet meer dan mooie woorden, die stranden op een gebrek aan houvast waar dat samenwerken op gebaseerd kan worden.Dit Procedureboek verloskunde wil een gids zijn om dergelijke samenwerking te realiseren. Het bevat de weerspiegeling van jarenlange evidence based verloskunde in de dagelijkse praktijk, zowel van een gewone kraamafdeling als van een eenheid voor risicozwangerschappen. Het biedt duidelijke en concrete richtlijnen als antwoord op de huidige JCI-, NIAZ- en andere accrediteringsgekte.Vroedvrouwen, zowel met ervaring als nog in opleiding, gynaecologen met weinig of veel verloskundige bagage, artsen-assistenten in alle disciplines die met zwangerschap in aanraking komen, evenals kinderartsen en pediatrisch/neonataal verpleegkundigen vinden hier een praktische basis voor de dagelijkse zorg bij zowel frequente als meer uitzonderlijke zwangerschapsproblemen.
