The aim of this book is to give readers a broad review of acne vulgaris and acneiform dermatoses, which may affect people from birth to death, and their treatment options. This book has a total of 14 chapters. The ""Introductory Review"" chapter focuses on the terms ""acne"" and ""acneiform,"" one of which is a multifactorial disease of pilosebaceous unit and the other refers to dermatoses, which resemble acne vulgaris clinically but have different etiopathogenesis. Other 13 chapters are created by experts in different fields like dermatology, dermatosurgery, pathology, and ophthalmology. This book is easy to read and it includes illustrations, tables, patient photographs, and histopathological slides to support the written text and to enhance the reader's understanding. We are grateful to all the contributors and leading experts for their valuable chapters, which provide an in-depth view of all aspects of the content, backed with the most current literature in the field.

Acne is one of the most frequent skin diseases: this affects about 80% of adolescents and 50% of adults. In the current context of renewed interest in “the natural world” and organic products, it is not rare for a pharmacist to be faced with a patient wishing to obtain an essential oil to treat his acne. But before delivering this king of products, it is essential to have good knowledge in terms of quality control of essential oils and evidence of effectiveness available in scientific publications. In is also necessary to be able to advice the patient about his pathology but also about the use of essential oils themselves. “Natural” does not mean “harmless” and essential oils should not be handle without precaution. Some of them are more adapted and advices than others to fight against acne. The purpose of this thesis is to concentrate all the useful information concerning the use of essential oils in the management of acne in the pharmacy. L’acné est une des pathologiques cutanées les plus courantes: environ 80% des adolescents et 50% des adultes en sont atteints. Dans son contexte actuel de regain d’intérêt envers « le monde naturel » et les produits BIO, il n’est pas rare pour un pharmacien de se trouver face à un patient souhaitant obtenir une huile essentielle pour traiter sont acné. Mais avant de délivrer ce type de produit, il est indispensable de posséder les bonnes connaissances en terme de contrôle de qualité des huiles essentielle et de preuves d’efficacité disponibles dans les publications scientifiques. Il faut également être capable de conseiller au mieux le patient au sujet de sa pathologie mais également concernant l’utilisation des huiles essentielles elles-mêmes. En effet « naturel » ne signifie pas « inoffensif », les huiles essentielles ne doivent pas être manipulées sans précaution et certaines d’entre elles sont plus adaptées et conseillée que d’autres pour lutter contre l’acné. Ce mémoire a pour but de concentrer toutes les informations utiles lors de l’utilisation des huiles essentielles dans la prise en charge de l’acné à l’officine.
