Johan Creten is considered a forerunner in the revival of clay in contemporary art, alongside Thomas Schütte and following in the footsteps of Lucio Fontana.025 years after his artist residency at Villa Saint Clair in Sète during the summer of?91, the artist returns to Sète to present a new project at the CRAC. 0'La Traversée/The Crossing' provides an opportunity to discover works of art that illustrate the mystery of nature through the contrast between flowers and algae, as well as a strange and fascinating collection of real and imaginary animals, which ranks beauty as a saving grace.00Exhibition: Centre régional d'art contemporain Occitanie/Pyrénees-Méditerranée, Sète, France (22.10.2016-17.04.2017).

"Barbara Hepworth's work and ideas are illuminated in her own lucid and eloquent words in this first collection of her writings and conversations. The collection makes available much that is out of print and inaccessible, and includes a significant number of unpublished texts. It is a surprisingly large body of work, and it spans almost the whole of Hepworth's artistic life. Her gift for language and desire to communicate to a public are evident throughout. Alongside the writings are Hepworth's lectures and speeches, a selection of interviews and conversations with writers and journalists, and radio and television broadcasts. The collection sheds new light on Hepworth's life, her working practices, the sources of her inspiration, the breadth of her intellectual interests and her deep engagement with contemporary politics and society, from the United Nations to St Ives. The illustrations include manuscripts and archive photographs from Hepworth's own collection"--Publisher's description

Since the 1980s Richard Deacon has played a prominent role in contemporary visual arts. He refers to himself as a fabricator, someone who wants to test the resilience of materials, language and the meaning of objects to the very limit. His fascination with the possibilities of the most diverse materials such as wood, textiles, steel, paper, leather, marble, clay, vinyl, corrugated iron, cardboard or PVC drives him from one work to the next, with an awe-inspiring oeuvre as a result. The glue, metal joints, bolts or joints are intentionally visible so that the spectator is constantly reminded of that creation process. The exhibition primarily focuses on 'variations' which could be seen as Deacon's trademark. By once again applying a logical and consistent series of rules to the same basic or starting situation, the artist keeps on shifting a border and adding possible new interpretations, until he arrives at 'new' works of art which will then form part of a series. The title of the exhibition, 'Some Time', refers to its temporary character. Or to a short time frame: things are what they are only for a short time.
