변호사인 한여사는 자신의 전남편을 살해한 기정의 변론을 맡기위하여 미국에서 귀국한다. 살인범은 20 여년전 바로 한여사의 남편을 가로챘던 그 여인이었다. 그러나 기정은 한여사의 자식들을 훌륭히 키워모두 음악가로 대성시켰다. 살인죄 역시 방종한 남편이 아들과 옥신각신하다가 자신의 실수로 죽은 것을 아들의 장래에 누가 될까 두려워 그녀가 대신 덮어 쓴 것이었다. 마침내 그녀는 한여사의 변론으로 무죄석방이 되고 한여사는 그녀의 행복을 빌며 미국으로 건너간다. Madam Han is a lawyer who came from the United States to work on a murder case of a woman who killed her ex-husband. During the investigation she finds that her client was a woman who had an affair with her husband and broke Han's marriage. But Han learns that her client raised Han's children to become successful musicians. She also finds that her client took all the blames for the murder case to protect her stepson, as the husband died of his own mistake during a fight with his son. Han's client is found not guilty. Han wishes her luck, and returns to the United States.
