"L'exposition «Magritte. La trahison des images» propose une approche à ce jour inédite de l'œuvre de l'artiste belge René Magritte. Rassemblant les œuvres emblématiques, comme d'autres peu connues de l'artiste, provenant des plus importantes collections publiques et privées, l'exposition offre une lecture renouvelée de l'une des figures magistrales de l'art moderne. Une centaine de tableaux, de dessins, et des documents d'archives, sont réunis pour offrir au public cette approche qui s'inscrit dans la ligne des monographies que le Centre Pompidou a consacré aux figures majeures de l'art du 20e siècle : « Edward Munch. L'œil moderne », « Matisse. Paires et séries » et « Marcel Duchamp. La peinture, même ». L'exposition Magritte. La trahison des images explore un intérêt du peintre pour la philosophie, qui culmine, en 1973, avec Ceci n'est pas une pipe que publie Michel Foucault, fruit de ses échanges avec l'artiste." Art and Mourning explores the relationship between creativity and the work of self-mourning in the lives of 20th century artists and thinkers. The role of artistic and creative endeavours is well-known within psychoanalytic circles in helping to heal in the face of personal loss, trauma, and mourning.In this book, Esther Dreifuss-Kattan, a psychoanalyst, art therapist and artist - analyses the work of major modernist and contemporary artists and thinkers through a psychoanalytic lens.
