Philip Luckombe, printer, author & shell-collector, published this work in 1771. (He had published a shorter version, A Concise History of the Origin & Progress of Printing, anonymously in the previous year.) Born in Exeter, he learned the printing trade there, & became a freeman of the city in 1776, but moved to London, where he wrote travelogues & several books on printing, edited dictionaries & encyclopaedias, & became an authority on shells. The first part of the book is concerned with the history of printing, including the various charters issued to the Stationers' Company, & the second with the practicalities of 'the art and mystery of printing' & 'the necessary materials used in a Printing House', including typefaces, presses & paper, & the duties of a warehouseman. This technical information continued to be used & quoted until the middle of the twentieth century.

The first publication on the work of Dutch power trio Experimental Jetset features almost two decades of graphic design praxis. Rather than a monolithic monograph, it is a very loose, personal archive, with essays by Linda van Deursen, Mark Owens, and Ian Svenonius, plus two photographic chapters with a selection of work by the studio, covering both printed matter and the documentation of site-specific pieces and installations. To conclude is a glossary-like anthology of texts (fragments of interviews, lectures, correspondence, etc.) previously written by Experimental Jetset, selected, edited, and structured by Jon Sueda.0.
